Dockers to Defend National Championship in Louisville

The Cincinnati Dockers Australian Rules Football Club will finish out their 14th season when they try to win their third consecutive United States Australian Football League (USAFL) National Championship at the annual USAFL National Championship Tournament this weekend at Champions Park in Louisville, Kentucky.

For the first time in team history, the Dockers will be represented in two different teams. Their top players will compete on a team in the Division 3 tournament, while the reserves will compete on a team in the Division 4 tournament. Cincinnatis main squads promotion to Division 3 comes as a result of their performance in the regular season, competing against some of the toughest teams in the country, as well as their dominating performance in last years tournament.

Dockers take on Louisville

The Cincinnati Dockers Australian Rules Football Club will play in their final regular season match this Saturday at Point Pleasant Park in Fairfield, when the Dockers take on their historic rivals, the Louisville Kings. Match time is scheduled for 12 Noon.

On September 28th, 1996, two squads, one from Cincinnati and one from Louisville, clashed in the first ever match of Australian Rules Football between two US clubs. It was this game that sparked the growth of the game in this country. Now, 14 years later, the Cincinnati Dockers will face off against the Louisville Kings in this special 14th anniversary match.

Dockers take on Louisville

This Saturday, the Cincinnati Dockers will travel to Nashville, Tennessee to challenge perennial MAAFL powerhouse, the Nashville Kangaroos. The match will take place at a different location than before; at Heartland Park, located at 3135 Heartland Drive in Nashville. Game time is schedlued for 2:00 PM Central Time.

Directions to field from Madison/Goodlettsville:

Take Briley Parkway east – towards Opryland and the airport. Take the Two Rivers Parkway exit, Exit #10. Turn left onto Two Rivers Parkway. In approximately 1 mile, turn left onto McGavock Pike. Turn left on Fernbrook Lane (second street on your right). Continue straight at the Stop sign. The NYSA fields are located at the bottom of the hill.
