The Cincinnati Dockers Australian Rules Football Club is proud to announce their schedule for their 16th season. Overall, the Dockers have seven events currently scheduled, beginning on April 28h in Louisville, and will conclude at the USAFL National Championship Tournament, where they will defend their 2011 Division 4 National Championship in nearby Mason, OH on October 13th and 14th.
The Dockers will kick off their season on Saturday, April 28th in Louisville, KY with the annual John Harrell Memorial Cup tournament. Currently confirmed teams in this tournament include the Dockers, the Louisville Kings, and the Columbus Jackaroos. Other teams are TBA.
Next, the Dockers take the long journey to Des Moines, Iowa on Saturday, May 19th, to face the Des Moines Roosters. After that, the Dockers have their first home match of the season on Saturday, June 2nd, when they host their in-state rivals, the Columbus Jackaroos.
Following that, the Dockers take another long journey, this time to Madison, Wisconsin on Saturday, July 21st, for the 2nd annual Madison Tournament hosted by the Milwaukee Bombers. Participants in this tournament are also TBA. Two weeks later on August 4th, the Dockers travel to St. Louis for another clash with the Des Moines Roosters.
The Dockers’ final regular season match will be back at home in September, on a date to be announced, against the Louisville Kings. This match will celebrate the 16th anniversary of the first match of Australian Rules Football in the United States between two American clubs.
Finally, the Dockers will defend their USAFL Division 4 National Championship crown at the USAFL National Tournament on the weekend of October 13th and 14th at Heritage Oak Park in Mason, OH. In the last four tournaments, the Dockers have compiled an impressive 15-3 record, winning 3 championships in that time.
Again, the United States Australian Football League (USAFL) announced that Mason, OH will host the 2012 USAFL National Championship Tournament. This tournament is the largest of its kind in the world, featuring over 1000 athletes competing for over 40 teams from all across the USA and Canada.
